Differences between steam and dry carpet cleaning

Carpet Cleaning
October 21, 2019

Even taking care of your carpet, cleaning when something falls, avoiding food and drinks on top of it, there will always be stains and dirt to wipe off the carpet. That is why it’s very important to know the best way of doing the carpet cleaning.

There are two methods that are most used in cleaning it: steam cleaning and dry cleaning. Here are some differences between these cleanings.

The first difference we will cite is the question of chemicals. As the steam cleaner releases detergent and hot water on your carpet, it doesn’t use as many chemicals as dry cleaning. Dry cleaning uses a variety of chemicals, so you have to leave your home while cleaning.

Another fact that you should take into consideration is the time taken in each one. Steam cleaning is a time-consuming process, as it can take up to 24 hours for the carpet to dry completely. In dry cleaning, the carpet gets almost completely dry as soon as the cleaning finishes.

In steam cleaning, it’s necessary to use more powerful equipment than those used for dry cleaning, since a pressurized and hot water jet is necessary to steam cleaning, while in the dry it uses only a machine to rub the chemicals in the carpet and also to vacuum.
